There are a few things we can try to get the headset to work.
1. Make sure the headset base is plugged into the computer. This can either be a usb cord from the base to the computer or a USB "dongle" connected to the computer. The dongle will look like this.
2. Once we know for sure the headset is plugged in, let's open the Plantronics app and make sure it sees the headset.
Click the ^ in the bottom right of your computer. You should see an icon that has a green battery/yellow battery inside of headphones. If you see an X inside of the headphones, your headset is not connected.
3. Click on the icon in the previous picture and then select the top item, it should be the name of your headset. This will open the Plantronics Hub App. In here you can see the battery life and some other things.
- Go to Settings.
- Then click General.
- Under Auto-Answer (No Sensor) Select On.
- Under Headset to PC Radio Link select Active Always.
4. Now let's go to the ^ in the bottom right of your computer and right-click the dialpad icon. Click Quit.
5. Once you have quit out of Dialpad, open Dialpad back up, click the gear in the top left and select your headset from the microphone and headset list.
- Select Headset Microphone or Communications- Headset Microphone for the Microphone Dropdown.
- Select Headphone or Communications - Headphone for the Speaker Headset.
- It is possible the options could be Headset Microphone (Plantronics ...) or Headphone (Plantronics...)
6. Now let's go to the ^ in the bottom right of your computer and right-click the dialpad icon. Click Quit.
Your headset should now work. You will also have your headset auto-answer when you pick it up from the dock. If your headset is not on the dock, you can just click Answer on your computer and it will work as well.
